"The emphasis at Harper’s Magazine is on fine writing and original thought, and in its acclaimed essays, fiction, and reporting, Harper’s continues to explore the issues and ideas in politics, science, and the arts that drive our national conversation."

Prose Rejections

Standard

Dear writer, Thank you for sending your story along, but I'm afraid it's not quite right for Harper's Magazine. Please know that we publish only twelve stories a year and receive hundreds of submissions for each one of those spots; under such circumstances, a "no" should be take to mean "no room" as opposed to "no good." Best of luck placing the story elsewhere, and best of luck with all your writing.

Higher

Thank you for sharing "---" with us. I'm sorry to say, however, that it is not quite right for the magazine. I wish you the best of luck placing this submission elsewhere, and hope to see more of your work in the future.

Sincerely, Ryann Liebenthal Editorial Assistant
