Prose rejections

Could be tiered?

Dear XXX,

Thank you for the gift of your story, and for placing your trust in Chapter House Journal. We’ve read your work with care, and we want you to know how much we honor the voice and vision you’ve shared with us.

Stories, especially those written from the marrow, from memory, from longing, from land, they carry more than plot or character. They carry a world. Yours does this. It reminded us why we read, why we write; to remember, to question, to feel less alone.

While we won’t be moving forward with publication at this time, please know that this is not a closing of the door, but simply one moment in a long and evolving conversation. We welcome your voice in this space and would be honored to read more of your work in the future. Our editorial feedback is available to you if desired, and we’d love to offer a first read for any future submissions you might share with us.

Thank you again for your courage in sending this piece into the world. May your stories continue to bloom in the places that need them most, and may we meet them again, in time.

With deep respect,

Editor-in-Chief
