Thank you for considering us as a platform for your work. Unfortunately, we’ve decided that your submission is not for us at this time. Even so, we at The Ellis Review truly hope you find a publication where you can house your work.

We know that this may not be the response you were hoping for; however, we encourage you to submit to us again in the future.

As writers, we want you to know that we are all too familiar with rejection. As editors, we want you to know that a rejection is often informed by the "fit" of a piece. We have a specific, intentional aesthetic and sometimes quality pieces just aren't in line with our ethos.

We also want you to know this: not all "No's" are easy — behind many are editors fighting for a "Yes."
