The Rupture is published once every two months. Each issue features original fiction, poetry, and essays, most of which have been selected from unsolicited submissions.
We have two submission periods: from March 1 to July 31, and from October 1 to January 31. Wait to hear back before sending more work; we cannot consider multiple submissions (simultaneous submissions, though, are fine).
Old rejections from The Collagist
"The Collagist is a monthly journal published on the 15th of each month since August 2009. Each issue contains short fiction, poetry, essays, book reviews, and one or more excerpts from novels forthcoming from (mostly) independent presses. By publishing online, The Collagist seeks to provide access to powerful, progressive literature by both new and established writers to an ever-expanding audience.
Dzanc Books was created in 2006 by Steven Gillis and Dan Wickett to advance great writing and to champion those writers who do not fit neatly into the marketing niches of for-profit presses. As a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization, Dzanc Books not only publishes literary fiction, but works in partnership with literary journals to advance their readership at every level. Dzanc is also fully committed to developing educational programs in schools and organizes workshops and Writer-In-Residence programs in Michigan and elsewhere to meet that goal. Dzanc offers unique one-on-one mentorship programs with established authors in their Creative Writing Sessions. Dzanc also annually sponsors the Dzanc Prize."
Thank you for your interest in THE COLLAGIST and for giving us the opportunity to read your work. We have not chosen your submission for publication in one of our upcoming issues, but we wish you the best of luck in your endeavors.
Sincerely, Poetry Editor The Collagist
